Welcome to CorpIntel ("we", "our", or "us"). CorpIntel is a free public intelligence platform providing data on companies registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.
By using our website at corpintel.io (the "Site") or creating an account, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Account data (registered users only)
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used to identify your account and send important notices.
- Name — displayed in your profile; sourced from your Google or LinkedIn profile when you sign in via OAuth, or entered by you during registration.
- Password hash — a one-way bcrypt hash stored when you register with email and password. We never store your plain-text password.
- Authentication provider — whether you signed up via Google, LinkedIn, or email and password.
2.2 Usage data (all visitors)
We use Google Tag Manager and may deploy analytics tags (such as Google Analytics) through it. These tools may collect:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring website or search query
- Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution
- Anonymised IP address
This data is used solely to understand how the Site is used and to improve it. It is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
2.3 Public company data
The company and director information displayed on CorpIntel is sourced from publicly available MCA / data.gov.in datasets. This data is not collected from individual users of our Site.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and maintain your session when you sign in.
- To personalise your experience on the intelligence dashboard.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation or security notices).
- To understand how the Site is used and to improve its performance and content.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for targeted advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request erasure, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be used to identify you.

CorpIntel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
